Not a day too late

Top 4 Eps

4.Kevin Devine - I Could Be With Anyone Ep
alrite. anticipating the album kinda.

3.Coldplay - Prospekt's March EP
Their cd was great and an EP with some extras is a must have, a song featuring Jay-z...priceless. Listen - "Lost"

2.Straylight Run - Un Dos Mas EP
New sound again from Straylight, love everything they do.

1.You, Me And Everyone We Know - So Young, So Insane EP
Read the review. enough said.

Most Dissapointing (No Order. All Dissapointing)

Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux
Suprisingly i loved every album before this one, Patick lost a lot in his vocals, trying to be too catchy, ten steps down from Infinity on High, and 40 steps from From Under The Cork Tree, dissapointing.

Kanye West - 808's and Heartbreak
listen to Love Lockdown, thats the whole album, all the other songs are identical, fake sounding vocals, i have no idea why he tried to go R & B, loved all his other work.

All-American Rejects - When the World Comes Down
this band is really starting to fall ever since their first album, love the single gives you hell, but after that im really not sure.

Gym Class Heroes - The Quilt
why gym class heroes why did you sell out into rap. fucking terrible

The Academy Is...-Fast Times At Barrington High
What the fuck. i really havent listened to whole thing in its entirety but i really havent wanted to. hopefully this is prematurely on the list.

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III
loved the singles, a milli and lollipop but come on some of his lyrics are god awful, must listen - "Phone Home" he looks like a martian and after listening to this song i really think he is.

The Matches - A Band In Hope
loved every album before this. going to keep giving it a try hopefully i will figure it out.

Plain White T's - Big Bad World
i dont know why i gave this a chance but it was bad. still stuck on hey there delilah

The Kooks - Konk
some thing over and over talking about love. dissapointing

Top Ten Albums of 2008
10. Portugal The Man. - Censored Colors
Very different sounding portugal album. really enjoy the change.
9.The Audition - Champion
Love Danny Stevens voice, most songs have a dance feel to it, pretty sick of bands like this but this one is legit hasnt got old.

8.Radiohead - In Rainbows
it is legendary what they did with the album downloads, revolutionary sound, reminds me of the feeling i got from OK Computer.

7.Coldplay - Viva La Vida
Im a sucker for anything classical with electric guitars but still this album if fucking great. best fucking album cover too.

6.Panic at the disco - Pretty. Odd.
yeah i know panic but idk what came over me but i hated it at first and now i enjoy it, i think it was because i was stuck on a fever i cant sweat out but ive changed and so have they love it now.

5.Anthony Green - Avalon
yeah so ive been hearing ive been dying to reach you for forever but i still love it to death, all recorded tracks of bad sounding vids from youtube, now i can truly charish his stuff plus bonus tracks, and a cd of like 20 songs, cant go wrong.

4.Dear and the Headlights - Drunk Like Bible Times
Yeah you got me hooked on this, crazy lyrics and sound, even crazier live, love it.

3.Cute Is What We Aim For - Rotation
yes i did go and buy this album from a store, i highly anticipated this album and i wasnt upset, love the whole thing, must be my past trying to shine through me, the inner pop punk in me. ive seen them live 3 times now and ive never been dissapointed. fucking great dude.

2.Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground - Self-Titled
i cant say enough about the top two albums, catchy, experimental, new every time i listen to them, crazy fucking great, so many instuments, love the classical mix with so many genres, the guest vocals for razia's is impeccable, just fucking amazing.
1.Forgive Durden - Razia's Shadow

Honorable Mention
Person L - Initial
Kenny doing his new thing, his new direction, very experimental, too short to be anything more than number ten on this list. Kinda makes me miss TSL though.

Say Anything - In Defense of the Genre
this is iffy, i really loved it like half way thru the year and then it lost its spice. i love the guest vocals, maybe a little excessive though but nevertheless good.

Now, Now Every Children - Cars
still working on listen to it all. sounds alrite so far.

Good Old War - Only Way To Be Alone
love coney island but after that i dont know.

Ace Enders and a Million Different People - The Secret Wars
i dont know. its okay.

Guilty Plesures
Chiodos - Bone Palace Ballet

Personal Best & Worst List Of 2008

Best
10. The Sound Of Animals Fighting - "Ocean and The Sun" The purported last album from this experimental and progressive band is absolutely all over the place. There are sounds on this album that no words can describe as it is incredibly experimental and really one of the weirdest albums I've ever heard. It carries a certain charm. My only complaint is that at times the vocals (which when heard are outstanding) are TOO QUIET!

9. Now, Now, Every Children - "Cars" This album has a very raw sound to it. The vocals are reminiscent of Eisley. The drum beats are loud and piercing, complimented only by the simple and intense guitar riffs. The album ranges from the quiet and sullen moods to the heavy hitting rock emphasis. This new band is going places.

8. The Working Title - "Heart" Although this is an E.P. with only a couple songs, each one shows the talent of this band. This is an acoustic album, stripped down and outstanding. There is also an acoustic interpretation of "Josie" by Blink 182 that I can't get enough of. Solid album.

7. Small Towns Burn A Little Slower - "So Begins the Test of A Man" The final album put out before the band broke up features fast paced guitars and slurred vocals. Nothing foreign to the bands previous endeavors. Features "Money Make The Man" which is my vote for the catchiest song of 2008.

6. Person L - "Initial" Kenny V. from The Starting Line takes a shot at a side project with wonderful results. Tweaked on whatever drugs this man takes helps him to eloquently tie together some excellent songs for this E.P. Kenny's voice is fantastic which really carries this whole album.

5. Hush Sound - "Goodbye Blues" For this album the band decided to focus more on the female vocals of Greta rather than share the duties with the front man. What a great idea it was. Greta's voice mixed with the pop sounds the band creates makes for an excellent third album for this hardworking band.

4. Good Old War - "Only Way to Be Alone" The former Days Away stars regroup as a new band to produce an incredible CD. An all acoustic and an overall fun album has some songs you want to clap along with and others where you just want to dance to. Keith Goodwin's vocals are on spot as always and makes for a great great great album.

3. Dear and The Headlights - "Drunk Like Bibles" I thought for sure that the band would have a terrible time following up such an amazing album like "Small steps, Heavy Hooves" but holy god I was wrong. This CD is pretty outstanding if you ask me as it shows so many different emotions and musical variety and fuck do these guys put on a great live show.

2. Forgive Durden - "Razia's Shadow: A Musical" Although I consider this to be highly pretentious and nearly impossible to duplicate in a live setting respectably, I find that this is one of the best albums of '08. Dutton takes a huge risk after being variably MIA for about a year. The album features scores of guest vocals and one of the most incredible musical spectacles I've heard on a rock album. So many instruments used in the most epic of fashions. You can't deny this CD.

1. Lydia - "Illuminate" I don't know what it is about this CD but I absolutely love it. It has this haunting effect which is best felt when you put on your headphones late at night and lay in bed and listen. This is one of the best CDs I have ever heard and I won't soon stop listening it. Up there as one of my favorite albums of all time. A MUST!

Honorable mentions (Didn't make the list for various reasons) - Anthony Green "Avalon", Hey Monday "Hold On Tight", Bayside "Shudder", Copeland "You are My Sunshine" (Love this album), Charlotte Sometimes "Waves and Both of Us", Flogging Moly "Float", Death Cab For Cutie "Narrow Stairs"

Worst
5. Right Away Great Captain - Disappointing
4. Simple Plan - Boring Boring Boring
3. Jack's Mannequin - Fucking sad how far he fell after first album
2. Hit the Lights - Nothing like "Stick Up" just a lame album
1. The Killers - Holy shit this is terrible, they should go back to "Hot fuss" and rethink things
